Focused On Improving Health

The clinical research arm of Metagenics, The Functional Medicine Research Center sm (FMRC), comprises an expert team of medical and naturopathic doctors, chiropractors and nutritionists, who are familiar with the latest developments in testing and treatment in natural medicine therapies. Over the past 10 years, research has focused primarily on gastrointestinal health, endocrine disorders, cardiovascular disease, support of detoxification processes, and metabolic syndrome.

On-site human clinical trials are research studies designed to test a hypothesis. Examples of clinical trials include crossover design studies, and controlled studies. Clinical trials lead to the preparation and submission of research articles to peer-reviewed journals and provide data for analysis of effectiveness of nutritional and botanical interventions. Clinical trials at the FMRC are conducted in accordance with the FDA’s Good Clinical Practice and The Institutional Review Board (IRB) guidelines. Patients enrollment in our on-site clinical trials are limited to Washington state residents only.

On-site human clinical trials are only part of the active research agenda pursued along with, ICM (investigational case management) studies , proprietary in-house studies, and collaborative studies with healthcare organizations in the private and public sectors around the world.

Investigational Case Management Studies (ICM) are individual, observational case studies investigating how nutritional and botanical interventions are used in complementary healthcare practices. These studies lead to case reports and materials for presentations at national and international seminars and symposia. Patients enrollment in our on-site investigational case management studies are limited to Washington state residents only.
